I am a graduate student at Stony Brook University, earning a PhD in Linguistics. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 2008, where I was a double major in Psychology and French & Francophone Studies. I was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.
Experience
I am a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University. I was an instructor for two undergraduate Phonetics labs, teaching sections of 15 students at a time. I was a teaching assistant for an undergraduate course called Language in the U.S., also in the Linguistics department. I have assisted in grading and lesson planning. I provided one-on-one help for students as well as group review sessions. I have a great deal of experience in teaching, copy editing, editing college/graduate school admissions essays, term papers, speech writing, etc. I earned a perfect score on the SAT II Writing (800) and GRE Writing (6). I earned a 780 in SAT I Math and a 760 in SAT I Verbal. I spent a semester studying abroad in 2006 through the Vassar-Wesleyan Paris Program. I am a 5-year National Spanish Exam Award Winner. I am fluent in French and Spanish, and am also proficient in Greek. I will provide samples of my writing upon request.
