Hello! My name is Carl and I've just finished my MA degree in psychology and religion at Columbia University. I'm currently completing a one year clinical internship, and plan to start doctoral work in clinical psychology next year. I tutored Chinese students in English as an undergraduate, and then spent three years in China teaching English and studying Mandarin. I have always enjoyed tutoring and teaching, although on balance I prefer tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to work with students in a one-on-one setting, which speeds progress. I am well-equipped to tutor students in writing, English, GRE verbal/writing prep, psychodynamic psychology, religious studies and history (ancient history and Chinese history.) I genuinely enjoy working with students and find it extremely rewarding to see them progress; this same motivation has led me to seek training in psychology. My rates and travel time are negotiable. I'm most interested in working with students not just to learn, but to form a rewarding working partnership that includes having a good time. 我会一点汉语。我有三年的经验给中国学生教英语。 I'm available most days and most times, although currently I have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I'm happy to work around those times.
