#### Education

Currently a PhD Physics student at NYUM.Sc. in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Alberta

B.Sc. in Honours Mathematical Physics from the University of Alberta

#### Experience

I have been a private tutor in Math and Physics for 10 years, teaching students in high-school and university. For the past two years I've been employed as a TA at New York University, teaching undergrad labs and graduate recitations. At the University of Alberta I TA'd intro physics for two years, labs and seminars, and was an instructor for the high school outreach program. I had the honour of being awarded a Graduate Student Teaching Award for my work at the University of Alberta.I am passionate about teaching, particularly physics and math. The world is an amazing place, and the skills we learn in these subjects can help us decipher a bit more about it. I try my best to impart this to all my students, while of course making sure they do well on their exams and ace their homework.

I have a lot of training in math and physics. This lets me show students some of the deeper connections between the subjects they're learning. I find once a student can see the deeper reason behind a concept, solving problems in that area becomes far easier. The most important thing however is practice. In my sessions we will work through several example problems in many different ways. I identify a students weak points, and we work out a strategy for fixing them (often more practice problems :) ) while keeping up with course material.

I have tutored high school students, college students of all years, mature students and students with disabilities. Every student is unique, and I tailor my approach to what works for you. Math and Physics doesn't have to be difficult.

#### Hobbies

I am light-hearted and try to keep the sessions interesting, even if they're not always fun. I am an avid reader, play guitar and saxophone, and even tried my hand at fiddle for a while. I enjoy biking, camping, and hiking whenever I get the chance.#### Preferred Subjects

Physics, Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Math, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Trigonometry, Programming, C/C++, Python, Java
